Lola M. Pope
Lola M. Pope, 90, of Webber Street, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at her home.
She was a homemaker and 33- year member of Central Wesleyan Church, where she also served as secretary for more than 20 years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed photography.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed & Jewell Chapel on 25th Street, with the Rev. Lee Norris officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and noon until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Central Wesleyan Church.
Born Oct. 8, 1914, in Jennings County, she was the daughter of Scott and Edna Wolfinger Rudicel. She married Irvin Pope Nov. 14, 1941, in Decatur County.
Survivors include sons, Paul Hamilton, and David, Dale, Robert, and Donald Pope, all of Columbus; a daughter, Darlene McDaniel of North Vernon; a brother, Ed Rudicel of Indianapolis; a half sister, Betty Gressel of Columbus; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Dec. 14, 1973; brothers, Lloyd, Charles, George, Johnnie and Robert Rudicel; sisters, Mary and Eva Rudicel; a half brother, Earl "Pete" Leightner; and stepsisters, Maymee Jessup, Hazel Miller, Tessie Stall and Ada Sipes.
