MARY ELLEN BEATY, 66, of St. Joe died Saturday at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Chalmer "Mike"; daughters Sharon Meredith of Fort Wayne, Sue Beard of Spencerville, and Dawn Drudge and Brenda Smith, both of Butler; sons Larry of Butler, Dan of Hamilton, Mont., and Rick of Auburn; brother Burl Rude of St. Joe; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. tomorrow at St. Joe Church of Christ. Calling is 5 to 9 p.m. today at Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville. Eastern Star services are 1 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn.
Preferred memorials are gifts to the church.

ST. JOE—Mary Ellen Beaty, 66, of St. Joe, died Saturday at 11:41 a.m. in Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Beaty was a homemaker and a member of the St. Joe Church of Christ, and Spencerville Order of the Eastern Star No. 386.
She was born Jan. 2, 1925 in St Joe to Burl and Vienna (Haverstock) Rude. She married Chalmer "Mike" Beaty in Auburn on May 19, 1944, He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Larry of Butler, Dan of Hamilton, Mont., and Rick of Auburn; four daughters, Sharon Meredith of Fort Wayne, Sue Beard of Spencerville, and Dawn Drudge and Brenda Smith, both of Butler; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother Burl Rude of St. Joe; and her mother-in-law, Lola Beaty, St. Joe.
Friends may call tonight from 5-9 at Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home in Spencerville. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the St. Joe church of Christ. Sherm Nichols will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 1 p.m. in the church. Memorial donation may be made to the St. Joe Church of Christ.
