DAVID RUDDER, 79, DIES IN SAN DIEGO
David A. Rudder of San Diego, California, a resident of this community for 20 years, died Monday morning at a hospital in San Diego. He was 79 years old. His health had been failing for some time but his condition did not become critical until a week before his death.
Funeral services were held in San Diego and burial was there. Two sons, Earl Rudder Sr. of Holyoke and Thomas Rudder, Saint Francis, Kansas, and the latter's wife left here April 19 for San Diego and returned Tuesday night.
Surviving Mr. Rudder are his wife, who lives in Los Angeles, California, the sons who have been mentioned, and two other sons, Glen, who lives in San Diego, and Charles of Las Vegas, Nevada. Another son preceded Mr. Rudder in death in 1932. All members of the family are known here.
Mr. and Mrs. Rudder and their sons moved to a farm southeast of Holyoke in 1918, coming here from Fairbury, Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. Rudder moved to Denver in 1938, and went to California four years later. Mr. Rudder had lived in San Diego since 1942. He visited the Earl Rudder family here several times, the last time in 1948.
