Memorial services for Marion Lewis Rudder, 47, Oskaloosa, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel First Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kan. Cremation is planned. Inurnment will follow memorial services.
Mr. Rudder died Saturday, March 21, 1998, in an airplane crash at Grain Valley, Mo.
He was born Jan. 15, 1951, at Sabetha, the son of Lewis Howard and Wilma A. Weddle Rudder.
He grew up in Hiawatha and was a 1969 graduate of Hiawatha High School.
He lived in rural Oskaloosa seven months, moving from rural Winchester, where he lived for 10 years.
Mr. Rudder was an engineer technician for the Kansas Department of Transportation for the past 12 years. He formerly worked as a warehouseman for the T.G.&Y Co. for seven years and also worked for the Masson Greenhouse Co., both in Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Rudder was an Army veteran, having served in Vietnam.
He was a member of the Greater Kansas City Skydiving Club and the U.S. Parachute Assn.
He married Judith Ann ``Judi'' Wright on July 19, 1980, at Hiawatha. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Joshua Michael Rudder and Noah Shawn Rudder, both of the home; a brother, Rex Rudder, Falls City, Neb.; and two sisters, Diana Johansen, Hiawatha, and Cynthia Jones, Burlington.
