Michelle Rudd Byrd "Mama Byrd", 50, of 2336 Cooper Road, Graham died at UNC Hospitals on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 9:15 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Boyd Byrd, Jr. and the daughter of Arthur and Brenda Rudd, all who survive. She was a substitute school teacher and a stay at home mom.
In addition to her husband of the home and parents of Graham, survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Byrd Allison and husband Marty of Burlington and Brittany Michelle Byrd of the home; a brother, Marty Dean Rudd, Sr. of Graham; her beloved dog, Sydney; two grand dogs, Karly and Xina; many nieces and nephews. She was also a second mom to many of her children's friends.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
