|Birth: ||Jan. 9, 1835|
|Death: ||Aug. 17, 1903|
Obit-Mrs. Lucy Bonny died Monday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Hamilton, on Second street. Although she had been in feeble health for months and confined to her bed for long weeks, she was thought, by those around her, to be improving and her death came as a severe shock.
Mrs. Bonny was the widow of John Bonny and was 60 years old. She was a devoted member of the College Hill Methodist church. Her Christian life was beautiful and shed its bright rays on all with whom she came in contact. All during her long illness, even when her tired body was racked with pain, she never stopped praising the Lord and whispering "Thy will be done". Such a death as hers is beautiful; for her it had no sting.
Her funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the College Hill church by Rev. Sturgill, after which her remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in the College Hill cemetery. The deepest and most heartfelt sympathy goes out to her bereaved children and relatives.
