Ann Rubert, wife of Lawrence L. "Larry" Rubert of Sayre, Pa., passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Owego, N.Y.
Ann was born in Sayre, a daughter of Frank and Rose Bubniak. She was a graduate of Sayre High School and in early years was employed by Bell Knitting in Sayre. On Oct. 29, 1949 she married Lawrence L. Rubert at the Ascension of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sayre. Her main interest in life encompassed her home and family. Ann was a member of the Epiphany Parish and the Altar and Rosary Society. Ann and Larry were dedicated volunteers in the Bingo program of the Epiphany Parish in Sayre for over 28 years. Ann was a member of the Waverly Moose Auxiliary and a social member of Roma Madre Lodge No. 1342 Order Sons of Italy in Sayre. She enjoyed crocheting and latch hook work and created many beautiful afghans for family and friends over the years. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Lawrence L. "Larry" Rubert at home; daughter and son-in-law Patricia R. "Patty" Davis and John Davis of Vestal, N.Y.; granddaughter Sarah Davis of Vestal, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers John and Michael Bubniak and sisters Katherine Chomko, Helen Marshall and Mary Donlin.
Abiding with Ann's request, a private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Alteri-Bowen Funeral Home in Sayre. There are no calling hours. Interment will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Pa. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Epiphany School, 627 Stevenson St., Sayre, PA 18840 in Ann Rubert's memory.
