SHAWNEE, Okla. — Ursula E. Royster passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at home.

Ursula was born Jan. 27, 1943 in Augsburg, Germany, to Ruth and Michael Hoelzel. She grew up in Augsburg, Germany, where she met and married her husband Arnold Royster who was stationed in the U.S. Army. After having two children in Germany they were transferred to Fort Benning, Ga., where their third child was born.

They made their home in Columbus, Ga., where she was employed for Swift Textile eight years. They then moved to Ponca City where she worked for Titus ten years. They moved to Shawnee in 1991 and she worked for Seagate as a computer tech until her retirement.

Ursula loved to sew. She had the special talent of being able to sew anything. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed all the friends she made in her many quilting stores and online quilting friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Arnold Royster in 2000 and her mother Ruth Linder in 2005.

Ursula is survived by her three children, AR Royster and wife Karen of Chandler, Michael Royster of Shawnee and Michaela Cook and husband Mike of Ponca City; two sisters, Jeannette Buchler and husband Ronnie of Augsburg, Germany, and Claudia Loffler and husband Walter of Diedor, Germany. Her grandchildren, Nicholas, Katelyn, Paul and Katie.

A private family graveside service was held at Resthaven Memorial Park.
