"Betty Jean Royall Aardema, age 72, passed away on Feburary 13, 2003 in Salt Lake City.
She was born January 3, 1931 in Salt Lake City to Joseph L. Royall and Hazel M. Royall. She attended West High School and graduated in 1948. She married Albert Aardema on Dec. 9, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Betty led an exemplary life. She was an active member of the LDS church. She served in many callings including Primary president, Counselors of various organizations, music director, and she was currently the Library Coordinator. She served in the scouting program for many years, being one of the first women to receive the Silver Beaver Award. She forever touched the lives of many boy scouts.
She overcame many health obstacles throughout her life with courage and strength. She leaves behind many family and friends who will forever love and miss her.
She is survived by her husband, Albert; one daughter, two sons; sisters Elvie (Arthur) Leary, Hazel (Don) Vaughn; brothers Paul, Dan, Joe; eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Steve.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 17, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS First Ward Chapel, 760 East 700 South, Salt Lake City. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City."
Husband, Albert Aardema was born October 1, 1926, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah and died February 22, 2012. He was buried at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park on Monday, February 27, 2012. Grave location is Glendale, Lot 70, Space 3W.
