Ruth was married to my uncle Kenny, and they had three children: Kenneth Eugene Alspaugh, Geneva Moreheart, and Alice Jane Ripley (all on findagrave). She was very good to me as a child.
Ruth saw her mother get hit and killed by a train when she was 15 or so, and Ruth took care of her younger siblings (at least one sister, and maybe two).
Ruth died of leukemia at The Ohio State University Hospital, at approximately the same time my daddy was diagnosed with throat cancer. He was treated at the same hospital and died about six months later.
Ruth is in the second row, between the woman in the black dress and the one in the flowered dress (my grandmother). Ruth's husband Kenny is to her left, and their daughter Alice Jane is in the front row, all the way to the left.
