Roy "Buck" Chamberlain, age 61, of Lake Kickapoo, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013, in the Archer Nursing Center.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Grace Community Church with Pastor Jon Curry officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2013 at Aulds Funeral Home.
Buck was born March 13, 1952 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Bobby Lee Chamberlain and Gusta Mae Smith Chamberlain.
He and Sis Nix were married January 1981 in Archer City, Texas.
Buck moved to Archer City in the 1970's and was employed by Murphy Chevrolet until 1979. In December 1979, he and Bill Meyer opened B & B Garage in Archer City where he worked for thirty-three years until he became disabled.
Buck loved living at Lake Kickapoo where he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Sis of Lake Kickapoo; one daughter, Julie Cokendolpher and husband, Lee, Jr. of Charlie, Texas; his mother, Gusta Chamberlain of Lake Kickapoo; three sisters, Connie Gayle Foley and husband, Joe of Groesbeck, Texas, Karen Elizabeth Fry and husband, Mark of Uvalde, Texas and Jennifer McNair and husband, Mike of Lake Kickapoo; two grandchildren, Bodie and Makayla of Charlie; father-in-law, Robert Nix of Wichita Falls, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Ricky Nix and wife, Michelle of Jefferson City, Missouri and Kelly Nix and wife, Jennifer of The Colony, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to the Archer Service Center, P.O. Box 578, Archer City, Texas 76351.
