Mrs. Eliza Roush Died Saturday Afternoon
She Had Lived Near Mt. Zion Many Years-Funeral This Forenoon
Mrs. Eliza Roush, aged about 70, passed away about 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, at her home, one-half mile north of Mt. Zion. She had been in declining health for several months, but her illness had confined her to the house only three or four weeks. Death was due to a disease that affected the liver.
The decedent had spent virtually her entire life in the southern part of Wells County, and she was held in the highest esteem by a wide circle of friends and relatives. Her husband, Henry Roush, passed away several years ago. To their union ten children were born, of whom seven are living. They are Isaac Roush, living southeast of Mt. Zion; Claude, living at the home place; Charles and Oscar Roush and Mrs. Ethel Jones, wife of Samuel Jones, all three living in Oklahoma; Mrs. Bertha Gibson, wife of Claude Gibson, living in Ohio; and Mrs. Earl West, of Mt. Zion. The deceased children are Samuel and Miss Tella Roush and Mrs. Samuel Bassett. The latter died only a few weeks ago in Oklahoma and was returned to Mt. Zion for burial.
Benjamin Batson, a brother of Mrs. Roush, lives in Jackson township.
The funeral of Mrs. Roush was held this forenoon at 10:30 o'clock. At the U. B. church at Mt. Zion, and burial was in the Batson Cemetery.
