NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Elias Rouly, Jr., age 90, at 12:00 pm Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating.
Interment will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum in Coteau.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 am Tuesday until service time.
A native of Youngsville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Rouly passed away at 6:15 pm on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Belle Teche Nursing Home.
Mr. Rouly was employed with Iberia Parish School Board for many years and worked at Coteau Elementary. He loved sports including Saints Football and the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed country music. Most of all he loved spending time with his family whom will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his daughter Anna R. Romero and husband Daniel of Coteau; his niece that was raised like a daughter, Lori Johnson and husband Jody of Coteau and four grandchildren, Jarret Romero, Mandy Hebert and husband Byron, Joey Johnson and Crystal Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Romero Rouly; parents, Elias and Bertha Norris Rouly, Sr.; one sister, Marie Rouly Landry and four brothers, Douglas Rouly, Andrew "Ice Cream" Rouly, Dewey Rouly, and Wilfred Rouly.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Romero, Jody Johnson, Joey Johnson, Allen Broussard, Byron Hebert and Chris Beasley.
