Mary L. Bacorn
KEYSER, WV – Mary Loretta Bacorn, 90, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at the home of her son Wayne.
Born on December 1, 1919 in Mt. Storm, WV, she was a daughter of the late Scott and Lacey (Moreland) Rotruck.
Mary was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Vance I. Bacorn and three sisters, Twila Smith, Manel Lucas and Ruth Agnew and a niece Debbie Agnew. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Bacorn was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and in her earlier years, was the cook at the Antioch School. She worked at the HP Store, Charles Store and Rinards Jewelry in Keyser. She graduated from Bayard High School in 1938.
Surviving are her sons, Wayne C. Bacorn and wife Becky of Keyser, Gary E. Bacorn and wife Charlotte of Antioch, and her daughter, Karen Richardson and husband George of Thomaston, GA. She was known as "Granny" to her 7 grandchildren, Mary Kaye (Bacorn) Rizer-Cooper, Nancy Joe (Bacorn) Williams, Robert V. Bacorn, Gary E. Bacorn, Jr., Todd A. Bacorn, Doug Bowers and Rodney Bowers and 5 step grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Rotruck and husband Marshall and her brother-in-law, Bill Agnew and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, on Friday, May 28, 2010, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at 2 p.m. with the Reverend James A. McCune officiating.
Interment will follow in Knobley Cemetery, Antioch, WV.
