Margaret Amanda Gordon was the tenth of eleven known children of Robert D. Gordon (1763-1847) and Mary Kennedy Gordon (1771-1854). Margaret spent her entire life in the vincinity of Brick Church, Giles County, Tennessee; except for a short time spent in Williamson County, Tennessee early in their married life.

Margaret married Jonathan Rothrock (1802-1852) on 10 Nov 1831 at Brick Church, Giles County, Tennessee. Jonathan and Margaret were the parents of seven known children, four boys and three girls, and 17 known grandchildren. Six of the seven children lived to maturity (the seventh being Margaret Elizabeth Rothrock, b. 19 Feb 1845 and died in infancy before 1850). Neither of the two daughters who lived to maturity married. All four of the boys married and three of them had children.

We are very fortunate to have links to Margaret's parents, her husband, and all seven of her children, as included below.
