Della Mae Green, 71, formerly of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012 in Joplin, Missouri. Private family services will be held at a future date. Arrangements are under the direction of Key Funeral Home in Pryor.
Della was born on November 7, 1940 in Tulsa to James Noah and Dovie Mae (Lewis) Rothrock. She grew up and attended school in Tulsa, graduating from high school in 1958. She later attended Roberts Beauty Academy where she earned her cosmetology license. She worked for the Sears and JC Penney Salons in Tulsa and became manager. Della retired in 1988 and later that year married James Irwin "Jim" Green in Miami. Jim was the owner of Jim Green Funeral Home in Pryor for many years; she went to work with him full time, but before going to work with Jim, she worked 1 year for Barbara's Boutique. She and Jim retired in 1997 and moved to Salina where they enjoyed life at Lake Hudson. Jim preceded her in death in August of 2006. Della moved to Joplin in the more recent years to be closer to family and she was currently living in Webb City, Missouri.
Della enjoyed quilting, especially for needy children and she was a collector of Pillsbury Doughboys.
She is survived by her son, B.J, Mooney of Salina, 1 daughter LaDonna Knight and husband Jim of Joplin, Missouri; 4 granddaughters, special niece, Sonya Moore of Sperry and 1 sister Brenda Presley of Wagoner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 8 brothers and 1 sister.
