Dorothy Bowers, 81, West Salem, died May 13, 1989, in Richland Memorial Hospital.
She was born December 5, 1907, in West Salem, the daughter of Clinton and Ola Koertge Rothrock. She married Max Bowers September 8, 1931 in Detroit, he preceded her in death July 31, 1961.
She was a registered nurse, graduating from the Battle Creek School of Nursing in Battle Creek, Mich. in 1931. She worked at the Olney Sanatarium and Richland Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Bowers is survived by a son, Paul; three brothers, Joe, Frank, and L. D. Rothrock; four sisters, Elizabeth Dodson, Martha Pool, Esther Hallquist, and Mary Bradham; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a son, and two brothers.
Services were held at Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Ingram Funeral Home, West Salem was in charge.
