Earl Edward Ross, a resident of Alpena, was born June 29, 1929, at Taloga, Okla., a son of Ed and Maggie "Velda" (Hall) Ross. He departed this life Monday, June 27 (2011) in his daughter's home in Alpena, at the age of 81 years.
Earl was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by one brother, Robert Ross and wife Cindy of Bernice, Okla.; two sons, Steve Ross of Gary, Okla. and Jody Ross and wife Sheri of Green Forest; five daughters, Earleen and husband Floyd Vance of Louisville, Ky., Diana Ross of Alpena, Mary and husband Wayne Binam of Huntsville, Linda and husband Mitch Santella of Rudd and Ina Gains of Alpena; several grandchildren, Tonya, William, Thomas, T.J., Maleah, Katrina, Tiffany, Jesse, Matthew, Daniel, Lisa, Serena, Michael, Moon and Summer; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
On November 6, 1949, Earl was united in marriage with Roberta Owens who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Velda Ross; one brother, Lloyd Main; and one granddaughter, Cindy Jones.
Gathering of Remembrance will be from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at Nelson's Green Forest Chapel. Interment will be in the Alpena Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Memorial donations may be made to the Alpena Cemetery Fund or the Alpena Fire Department, 2630 CR 811, Alpena, AR 72611.
