Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Maud Ross Jones, 96, in Pasadena, CA, on April 16, 1974. A native of Benton County, she moved to Lafayette as child with her family.

She attended public elementary schools here and graduated from Kenwood Institute for Girls and studied violin at Chicago under Theodore Spiering. She attended Purdue University and was married to Edgar Francis Jones, of Lafayette, who preceded her in death.

In about 1930, Mrs. Jones moved to Portland, OR, with her husband. She was a musician most of her adult life and resided in Oregon and California.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mary Ross Weigle of Pasadena. Internment was in Spring Vale Cemetery, Lafayette.
