Carol S. Ross, 69, of Lafayette, IN, died at 1:55 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2012, at Indiana University Health.
She was born November 7, 1942, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Louis and Mabel Caster.
She attended Jefferson High School. Carol married Charles H. Ross Jr. on March 29, 1960, here in Lafayette, and he survives. Carol was a deli clerk at Payless Supermarket for 12 years as well as being a homemaker. She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends and the many children in the neighborhood she would watch and sit for as if they were her own. Carol liked to play bingo and visit Blue Chip casinos.
Surviving are her husband, Charles H. Ross Jr. of Lafayette; four daughters, Candy Basket (companion: Robert) of Indianapolis and Carla Emberton (husband: Dennis), Shannon Rund (husband: Steve) and Melanie Cole (husband: Lane), all of Lafayette, and Candy Basket (companion: Robert) of Indianapolis; four sons, Charles H. Young (wife: Margaret) and Charles H. Ross III (companion: Ashlee), Rick Ross (wife: Terri) and Robert Young (wife: Brenda), all of Lafayette; a sister, Patricia Mullins of Lafayette; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
