Mrs. Thelma R. Buck, 64, a former cook at
Devon Plaza, died at 7:41 p.m. Friday in Home
Hospital, shortly after being admitted, She had been
in ill health since Feb; 1983.
A native and life resident of Lafayette, she had
been employed at Devon Plaza several years. She
also had been a cook at Loeb's Tea Room 12 years.
She resided at 533 S. Third St.
In 1937 she was married, in Lafayette, to Lloyd A.
Buck.
He died in 1977.
Mrs. Buck was a member of Greenbush Street
Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Richard
(Sharon) Howe, Mrs. Lewis (Sandra) McClimans,
and Mrs. Janet Aveline; one son James R. Buck;
a sister, Mrs. Perry (Mary) VanPelt; and two
brothers, Charles "Sam" and Ray K. Ross, all of
Lafayette.
