Funeral for Eva Rose Kirby, 89, of Hartselle was Monday, Jan. 26, at 2 p.m. at Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Salter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Kirby died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at her residence. She was born Oct. 30, 1914, in Limestone County to John Townsend Rose and Mary Magdaline Matthews Rose. She was a food service supervisor at Hartselle Hospital, and was an active member of Neel Nutrition Center. She was a lifelong member of Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Kirby was the widow of Daniel Forrest Kirby and the mother of the late Hilda Marie Anders.
She is survived by two sons, Leonard Forrest Kirby of Danville and Jimmy Dale Kirby of Decatur; two daughters, Mildred Mavine Slaten of Athens and Brenda Gail Turrentine of Hartselle; 20 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
