Janice Rose Clyde, 77, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, surrounded by family. She resided at 2540 East 1950 North in East Layton, Utah at the time of her death.
Janice was the first baby born in Weber County on January 1, 1932 to Henry and Margaret Rose.
She was raised and educated in Ogden, UT. From age 12 she had a passion to become a nurse. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1950 and attended the Dee Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated in the Class of 1953. Our dear mother enjoyed her nursing career working at the old Dee Hospital and McKay-Dee Hospital, where she retired in 1992 after 35 years of service.
She married Charles G. McComb on August 1, 1952. They were later divorced. She later married H. Scott Clyde in the Logan Temple on December 16, 1970. Janice and Scott were a match made in heaven. Janice loved scouting, serving 40 years and earned the Silver Beaver award in 1998. Our sweet mother loved family get-togethers.
She always made us laugh. Scott always said "There is never a dull moment with Janice around." Janice and Scott raised 11 children. She would say her greatest success is "she was happy the kids were all friends." She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had a strong testimony and her children knew she was committed to her beliefs.
Surviving are 11 children: Grant (Yolanda) McComb, Yorba Linda, CA; Craig (Julie) McComb, South Lake Tahoe, CA; Carolivia (Jim II) Bandy, Henderson, NV; Mark McComb, South Ogden; Steve (Linda) McComb, Murray; Lucinda (Ken) Lignell, West Jordan; Shelly Schenk, South Ogden; Lisa McComb, Layton; Brian (Debe) Clyde; Christina (John) Schroeder, Byron Center, MI; and Lyle (Anita) McComb, Clinton; 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Joan Hansen and Mary Rose, husband H. Scott Clyde; two grandsons Brady Schenk and Dustin McComb.
