Mrs. Roquet was born September 30, 1911 south of Fremont to Francis A. and Lena Dinsmore Rhoads. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1931. She was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church and charter president of the Sew & So Club established in the 1930's in the Fremont community. She married Dale C. Roquet, January 25th, 1933 at the Christian Church in Oskaloosa. He preceded her in death May 15, 1987. They lived in the Fremont area all their lives, farming and raising Angus cattle. She continued living on the farm and helping with decisions about the farm until 2000. Seeing her health deteriorating, 19 of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren met from all over the country for Thanksgiving this year. Mrs. Roquet is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law; Paul E. and Betty Roquet of Walla Walla, Washington, and David C. and Cherie Roquet of Jefferson, Iowa. A daughter and son-in-law; Joan L. Roquet Morgan and her husband Joseph Morgan of Farson; a brother, Ward P. Rhoads of Ottumwa; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters; Hazel Aldridge, Florence McBeth, Lucille Davis, Edna Rhoads, and Eva Swanson; and three brothers; Floyd, Raymond and Lowell Rhoads. Memorials may be made in her name to either the Fremont United Methodist Church or the Fremont Rescue Unit.
