Ada Keith Ropp, 89 of Holden, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at the Western Missouri Medical Center.

She was born on September 7, 1912 in Warrensburg, Missouri, the daughter of Robert Courtney Keith and Bessie Coldman Keith.

On August 9, 1952, she and Samuel B. Ropp were married in Holden, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1990.

Mrs. Ropp was a 1931 graduate of Warrensburg High School and a 1935 graduate of Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a major in Commerce and a minor in History.

Mrs. Ropp and her husband were part owners of the Canaday and Ropp Funeral Chapel in Holden for a number of years.

She taught school for Forty years beginning in 1935 ro 1936 at Montserrat, Missouri; from 1936 to 1939 she taught High School at Centerview, Missouri and moved to Holden in 1939 with 35 years of teaching High School there until her retirement in 1973.

She had also worked as bookkeeper for Holden International Harvester Business adter school hours from 1945 to 1952.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holden; Johnson County Teachers Association and past president; past treasurer of the Holden Choral Club; Missouri State Teachers Association since 1935; The National Education Association, National and Local Retired Teachers Association at Central Missouri State University; received a Lifetime Memership in the Holden Parents and Teachers Association; honorary member of The Future Homemakers of America for over 20 years; honorary member of The Future Farmers of America in Holden and Sub-District for 14 years; and very involved in the High School activities including all the sports functions.

Survivors include two nephews, Larry Eille of Warrensburg and Lyndon Wille of Lake Mary, Florida and a very close friend, Sherri Gudde Christian of Blue Springs, Missouri.

One sister, Lena Wille preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 27, 2002 at the Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home, Warrensburg, Missouri.

Burial was at Holden Cemetery.
