Eleanor M. "Ellie" Ropp Shedd, a retired businesswoman, passed away Sunday, July 16, at her home in Melbourne, Fla. Born November 16, 1931, in Erie, Pa., she was the daughter of Charley and Mildred Phillips. She moved to Florida in 1958. Ellie owned and operated Quality Upholstery of Melbourne until she retired in 1993. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, St. Paul's UMW, the church thrift shop, and Moose Lodge Chapter 1046 of Melbourne. She was the back bone of her family. Survivors include two daughters, Diane Ferrell and Debbie "Dee" Phillips; two sons, Charley Ropp and David Ropp and his wife, Karen, all from Melbourne; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lila Clisby of Melbourne, and Betty Jackson and Charles Auer of Erie, Pa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ropp, Sr.; and son, Richard Ropp, Jr.; and four siblings.
Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend.
