Mary Agnes (Ropp) Blick was called to her heavenly reward on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. She died peacefully at her home in Strasburg after a courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Stover Memorial Chapel, Strasburg with Father Wilhelm Ettner officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, St. Lawrence, PA. A Rosary will be said at the beginning of the service on Tuesday.
Mrs. Blick was born March 15, 1947 in Spangler, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Marcellian "Pete" and Ruth (Rae) Ropp.
She was a member of St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, Woodstock and a nurse with more than 30 years of service having worked at Altoona (PA) Hospital, Ebensburg (PA) State School, private duty care, Haida Nursing Home, Hastings (PA) and Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
Surviving are her devoted, loving husband, Paul James Blick, whom she married May 1, 2005 in Woodstock; three daughters, Gina Stetter and husband, John of Strasburg, Jaime and fiance, Travis Beattie of Richmond and Kellie Grayshaw and husband, George of Vermillion, Ohio; her son, Tony Blick and wife, Ellen of New Market, New Hampshire; three sisters, Nancy Worchesky and husband, Al of New Cumberland, PA, Ann Holley of St. Petersburg, FL and Bonnie Holley and husband, George of Lewisburg, PA; five grandchildren, JohnPaul, Maxmillian and BenXavier Stetter, all of Strasburg, Bryce and T.J. Grayshaw of Vermillion, Ohio; cousins, Priscilla and Steve Cedor, Toms Brook, VA and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Ropp of Florida and William Ropp of Patton, PA.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Blick asked that memorials be made to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, nationalshrine.com, 400 Michigan Ave., NE, Washington, D.C. 20017 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , stjude.org, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105. She faithfully watched the BasilicaŠs Mass on TV when she was unable to attend Mass.
