PHILIPSBURG - Alice M. Beatty, 82, of North Philipsburg, and formerly of Lanse, died Sunday, May 29, 2005, at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
Born May 19, 1923, at Dimeling, she was a daughter of the late George and Daisy (Bloom) Root.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Philipsburg.
Mrs. Beatty was a former employee of MacGregor's Sportswear & General Cigar Factory, Philipsburg.
She wed William C. Beatty Oct. 18, 1957, at Chester Hill. He died Feb. 5, 1978.
Mrs. Beatty is survived by a sister, Beatrice Billotte of Grassflat; a brother, Robert Root of Clearfield; a half-brother, Clarence Root; a half-sister, Sarah Jane Rummings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Davis and Margaret Borst; two brothers, Howard Root and Bill Burton; and a half-sister, Mary Ann Wasinchism.
Funeral services will be held at David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, Philipsburg, Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Tracie Bullis officiating.
Interment will be at Allport Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home tomorrow from 7-9 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Presbyterian Church, 509 Presqueisle St., Philipsburg, PA 16866.
