Mildred Roos, age 90, of Sheldon, Iowa, formerly of Boyden, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at the Northwest Iowa Health Center Senior Care in Sheldon.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at 10:30 A.M. at the First Reformed Church in Boyden, Iowa. Rev. Matthew Draffen officiating.

Burial in the Sheridan Township Cemetery in Boyden.

Visitation will be Monday, March 27, from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with the family present from 7-8:30 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon.

Mildred Roos was born on May 21, 1915, in Alton, Iowa. She was the daughter of Alex and Henrietta (Van Surksum) Klein. She lived her youth in Hospers, Iowa, where she attended school.
She was united in marriage to Okko Roos of Newkirk, Iowa, on January 1, 1940, in Hospers. In 1950, they moved to Bellflower, California. They worked for McDonald-Douglas driving gas tankers. In 1954, they moved to Boyden, Iowa, where they purchased the Boyden Sandpit and operated Roos and Wallinga Sand and Gravel. Mildred was the bookkeeper. They operated the business together until Okko passed away in 1968. In 1970, Mildred sold the business.
Mildred became the Librarian at the Boyden Elementary School until retiring in 1983. After retirement, she worked for 3 years at Coop Family Home Center in Boyden, and worked part time for
L & D Variety for several years. She played the organ for various churches and taught organ lessons in Hospers, Boyden and Orange City, Iowa. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting.
Mildred was a prayer warrior. She loved her family and many others whom she prayed for.
She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Boyden, where she was active in different societies and the organist for Senior Saints.
Mildred moved to Northwest Iowa Health Center Senior Care on July 1, 2002, where she passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2006.
Those left to cherish her memories are her son and daughter-in-law: Chuck and Lisa Roos of Rock Rapids, IA, and their children: Angela and Jay Thiesen of Ames, IA, Seth Roos of Rock Rapids, IA, Paige Roos of Rock Rapids, IA; her daughter and son-in-law: Peg and Bill Noack of Sheldon, IA, and their children: Jackson and Jenny Roos and their children: Justice and Jazmine of Sheldon, IA, Kim and Andy Powell and their children: Kassy and Will of Glen Ellen, IL, Jerry Noack of Sheldon, IA, Katrisha and Ken Rider and their child: Kloe of Sheldon, IA, Ron & Michelle Noack of Ingleside, IL, Kristin Noack of Elgin, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Okko; infant daughter: Sheila Roos; her parents; brother: Eugene Klein.
