Rosella G. Roos, 76, Sibley, died Monday, April 11, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Services were Wednesday, April 13, at First Reformed Church in Sibley. Burial was at Hospers Cemetery.

Rosella Roos, daughter of Dick and Jennie (Roetman) Zwagerman, was born April 29, 1928, near Sheldon. She attended country school in Sioux County up to the eighth grade.

She married Harold Roos on June 25, 1948, in Hospers. They lived in Hospers while he worked at Zwagerman’s Hardware Store. They then moved to Missouri, where they lived for two years. They returned in 1958 to Hospers, where they stayed for 14 years, operating Roos Plumbing and Heating. They moved in 1972 to Sibley, where she worked at Casey’s General Store and at the bakery. She quit working in 1982 to take care of her husband as he became ill. Mr. Roos died in December 1997.

She was a member of First Reformed Church in Sibley, where she was active in the quilting group and in Bible study.

She enjoyed traveling on bus tours, working in her flower garden and sewing.

Survivors include a daughter, Katha; a daughter-in-law, Charlotte; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mildred.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Roos; two sons, Dennis Roos and Ricky Roos; a brother, John Zwagerman; and two sisters, Bertha Grandstra and Kate Cleveringa.
