Genevive Eugenia Goetchius Roorbach
SCHENECTADY GAZETTE
WEDNESDAY MORNING, JANUARY 3, 1940
Roorbach Rites Set Thursday
CANAJOHARIE, Jan 2 .— Mrs. Genevieve E. Roorbach, wife of Andrew B. Roorbach, died Monday night at their home on Moyer Street after an Illness of several months. She was born In Little Falls, May 6, 1869, daughter of George H, and Eugenia Whitman Goetchius. She studied nursing in New York and attended Mechanics Institute in Rochester. She had moved to Fort Plain with her father and brothers in 1894 after the death of her mother. In 1901 she was married to Mr. Roorbach and they resfded in Fort Plain until 1917, when Mr, Roorbach became associated with the C.R. Maylender Company. They have lived in this village since. Surviving relatives are her husband; one sister, Miss Iola E. Goetchius. of Los Angeles, Cal.; one brother, Whitman A. Goetchius, of North Abingdon, Mass.; a stepmother. Mrs. Dulce Goetchius, and three half sisters, Mrs. Olga Keller, Mis. Harold Hempson and Miss Uldine Goetchius, all of Warren, Pa. Mrs. Roorbach was a member of the Baptist church, Fort Plain. and active in the missionary society of the church, but was a regular attendant of the local Methodist church. She was a member of the Canajoharte chapter, W.C.T.U. Funeral services will be held at home Thursday afternoon at 2 30 o'clock. Rev. Fred A, Mills. Mrs Roorbach's brother-in-law, will officiate and burial will be in the Fort Plain cemetery.
