Nancy graduated from Sioux City, Iowa's Central High School in 1941. She also learned to play the Violin and Viola in addition to the mandolin She attended Business School in 1942 and when the war came, she joined the USO and helped entertain our servicemen. That is where she met her first husband, Jim Boise. They were married in Sioux City after the war in 1945 and moved to California in the late 40's.

Nancy and Jim first moved to Compton, CA and then Downey, where Jim worked for North American Aviation and Nancy for Rancho Los Amigos Hospital. Nancy continued to work for Rancho, but also helped Mac with his dance studio and dance tour group. After Nancy retired from Rancho she continued to support Mac's business and had more time to enjoy her children and grandchildren. Nancy loved to entertain friends and family and dance students.
