Nellie Romaine Baumgardner, of Taneytown, MD, died, June 19, 2011.

Born May 25, 1925 in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Earl Jesse and Lucy Ruth (Lawrence) Babylon. She was predeceased by her husband, John Stewart Baumgardner, in 1990.

Nellie was a life member of Emmanuel Baust United Church of Christ in Tyrone. She was a farmer and enjoyed flowers, traveling, and collecting antiques.

Surviving are five children, John Steward Baumgardner, Jr. and wife Helen of Taneytown, Nancy Lee Baginsky and husband Vincent of Taneytown, Patricia Ann Baumgardner and husband Dennis Zack of Taneytown, Carolyn Elaine Tunnell and husband John of Millersville, and Susan Jean Baumgardner of Taneytown. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, Jesse Thomas Babylon, about 1926.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., July 7, at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, Taneytown, with the Rev. Gerald D. Fuss officiating. Interment will follow in the Keysville Union Cemetery in Keysville, MD.
