Jersey Rollison was the son of Rosa and Thaddeus Rollison and was an active member of the First Christian Church in DeWitt, Arkansas. He graduated from Valparaiso University in Indiana in 1909. He was a teacher in Arkansas County and a teacher and principal of Baring Cross School in Little Rock. He also had careers in the insurance and real estate businesses. "As a student of local, national and worldwide affairs, he was a brilliant scholar,although handicapped throughout his life, he refused to let this hinder him in any way or in any of his achievements. Mr. Rollison could boast of many friends, and he always used every opporunity he found to say "a good word" for some one."
