The Service Flag
With a feeling of joy and gladness
We take from our window today,
The flag that long has been hanging there,
A star for each son away.
Our hearts overflow with thanksgiving
For the stars are blue, as of old,
God pity the homes, there are many,
Wherein hangs a star of gold.
