Clarence Henry Roller, 66 of Girard, died Wednesday afternoon, May 7, 1997, at Carlinville Area Hospital. He was born October 28, 1930 in North Palmyra Township, Macoupin County, the son of William Henry and Mildred Gladys White Roller. He married Marian Louise Hart, April 6, 1956 in Carlinville, Illinois and she survives.

He is also survived by on son, Clarence Jr. (Wife Dena)of Girard and one daughter, Teresa (husband Mark)Davis of Kent Washington; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister Ida Mae Wilson.

Mr. Roller was a veteran of the Korean War and a retired farmer.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10 at Stults-Neece Funeral Home in Palmyra, with Charles Richison officiating. Judy Bacon served as pianist and Dena Roller as soloist. Serving as pallbearers were Junior Roller, John Boehler, Porky Grimmett, John Marsh, Clarky Grimmett, Francis Fitzgerald, Lonnie Gwillim and Jeff Gibbs.

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.

Memorials are suggested to the Northwestern Rescue Squad.
