Dorothy Mae Rogers Bateman, 90, of Claudville Hwy., Claudville, died Sunday, September 17, 2006, at R.J. Reynolds-Patrick County Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 3, 1915, in Stokes County, N.C., to the late Walter and Bannie Hill Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clay A. Bateman.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Hills Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan B. Collins of Claudville and Opal B. Shelton of Stuart; one sister, Vera Dollarhite of Collinsville; three brothers, Morris Rogers of Bassett, James W. Rogers of Collinsville and Paul Rogers of Conway, S.C.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Howell Funeral Home in Patrick Springs by the Revs. Tommy Smith and Lee Shelton. Burial was in Hills Grove Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Rogers, Tommy Rogers, Gary Rogers, Roger Dollarhite, Ronnie Collins, Thomas Collins, Clay Griggs and Jody Shelton.
