Ethel married Martin Howard Abell, 1893-1968, a Marion County, KY native on Feb. 18, 1925 at St. Rose Church, near Springfield, KY. They were married by Rev. Fr. J. S. Wilburn, O.P. in the presence of Joseph S. Abell and James C. Abell. See Washington County, KY Marriage Book #18, page 57 in the County Clerk's Office in Springfield, KY.

Mrs. Ethel Rogers Abell, 84, wife of Howard Abell, died at 7:45 Sunday evening, November 22, 1964, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Abell after a lingering illness. She was a retired schoolteacher and was widely known throughout the county. Besides her husband, a brother, Stanley Rogers, Thompsonville survives. She also leaves several nephews and nieces. The funeral Mass was said in St. Dominic Catholic Church, this city at 9 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. J. T. Blandford officiating. Interment was in St. Rose Cemetery. The body was prepared at the Arnold Funeral Home and was moved to Hale and Polin Funeral Home in this city Tuesday afternoon to await rites. Honorary pallbearers were M. W. Durrett, E. R. Hagan, W. A. Walters, Edd Scott, Roy Smith and Louis Mudd. Casket bearers were Paul and James Kent Harmon, J. R. Claybrooke, Don Rogers, Jack Vawper, and Roger Adams.
