Harrison Coburn "Harry" Rogers, 63, of Columbia passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at Boone Hospital Center. A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Roger's family mausoleum in Webb City, where cremains will be interred. The Rev. Ted Estes will officiate. Harry was born Nov. 12, 1947, in Carthage, the son of A.H. and Bertie Rogers. Harry was a graduate of Carthage Senior High School, attended Missouri Southern College (now Missouri Southern State University) and graduated from Linetype Technical College, University of Missouri School of Journalism. He was employed for more than 30 years with the University of Missouri Campus Mail Services.
Harry was a proud supporter and 30-year season ticket holder of Mizzou football. He also supported the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals. He was the ultimate sports fan. Funeral attendees are encouraged to wear clothing honoring their favorite team. Survivors include a sister, Roselyn Rogers Caldwell and husband Joe of Lafayette, La.; brother Bill Rogers of Elkins, Ark.; two nieces and three nephews; two grand-nieces; and numerous cousins, neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Special thanks are extended to the Jimmy's Steak House family, who lovingly fed and befriended Harry for many years.
