RITES ARE ARRANGED FOR CRASH VICTUMS
Orange Cove--Memorial rites will be held here Wednesday at 10 A.M. in the Presbyterian Church for Mr and Mrs Henry Picher, both 75, who were killed in a Kings Canyon Road automobile accident Friday night.
Funeral services and burial will be Webb City, Mo
The Cairns Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr & Mrs Picher were born in Missouri and came here in March, 1921, settling on a citrus grove in the East Orange Cove area where they lived until their deaths.
Mrs. Picher was an elder of the Presbyterian Church, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and organized the Tri Gray Y girls group. She was a past president of the Womans Association of the church, the afternoon Guild, and Orange Cove Womans Club.
For more that helf a century she taught a Sunday school class.
Picher was a trustee of the church and formerly served on the board of the Orosi High School District. He was a veteran of World War I, and active in the American Legion. He was a past president of the Orange Cove Citrus Association, the Orosi-Orange Cove center of the farm bureau, the Tulare County Farm Bureau, the Tulare County Sheriffs Posse and the Orange Cove Lions Club.
His father, William H. Picher, was the founder of what now is the Eagle-Picher Mining Company, operators of large scale lead holdings at Picher, Okla.
Surviving are a son, William H. Picher of Orange Cove, a sister, Mrs Ann Howard of Hollywood, and two grandchildren.
Mrs Picher leaves, besides her son and grandchildren, a sister, Mrs Elizabeth Malloy, the society editor of the Joslin, Mo. Globe.
The family asks that any remembrances be sent to the Orange Cove Presbyterian Church Sunday school.
