MUNCIE--Doris R. Bryant, 78, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2003 at Ball Memorial Hospital.
Ms. Bryant was born March 25, 1925 at Mentor, Tenn., the daughter of Earl and Pernie Holmes Rogers. She graduated from Friendsville High School in 1944.
She retired in 1988 from Ball State University as pastry chef at LaFollette Hall Dining Services after 22 years of service. She was a member of Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church and Ball State Symnpathy Club.
She is survived by her mother, Pernie H. Rogers, Muncie; a son, Dallas R. Bryant (wife-Carol), Mesa Ariz.; two daughters, Angela G. Flowers, Warsaw, and Julia J. Goodman (husband-Don), Gaston; her former husband, William D. Bryant, Sr.; two brothers, Everette Rogers (wife-Louise), Lenoir City, Tenn., and Maurice Rogers (wife-Jean), Lenoir City, Tenn.; a sister, Joyce Leslie (husband-Gerald), Muncie; seven grandchildren, Michelle Smith, Nicole Melvin (husband-Randy), Rocky Bryant, Amber Buckles (husband-Brandon), Ashley Flowers, Nathan Goodman, and Natalie Goodman; four great-grandchildren, Scotty Bryant, Kylie Smith, Nickolas Melvin and Myra Buckles; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Rogers; a son, William (Danny) Bryant, Jr.; and a brother, Terry Rogers.
Funeral services for Doris will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church, 7500 N. Wheeling Ave., Muncie, with Rev. James O. McCowan officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Friends may call at the Parson Mortuary from 4 to 8 p.m. today and an hour before services at the church Thursday.
