SAN BERNARDINO DAILY SUN. MONDAY, APRIL 6, 1942 MRS. ROGERS IS POISON VICTIM

A WIS POISON VICTIM Carolina Meyer Rogers, a member of the auditing staff in The Sun Co. business offices and a long-time resident of the San Bernardino valley, committed suicide at her ranch home at Eucalyptus and Base Line in Rialto yesterday by swallowing poison, according to Coroner R. E. Williams. In ill health for two or three years, Mrs. Rogers, who was. about (Continued on Page 5, Column 8) 45 years old, left notes saying she was "sorry to take this way out," said Deputy Coroner Edward P. Doyle, assigned to the investigation by Coroner Williams. Mr. Doyle said he believed Mrs. Rogers died about noon yesterday from the effects of some type of virulent potion, although her body was not found until her brothers, Henry and George Meyer, with whom she resided, returned home last night. Widely-known in this area, Mrs. Rogers was a graduate of the San Bernardino Senior High school. She attended college in Los Angeles. She was employed by The Sun Co. about 24 years ago and later moved to San Francisco when she married Richard W. Rogers, Pacific coast representative for a press manufacturing concern. She returned to Rialto and San Bernardino when Mr. Rogers died, and had been back with The Sun auditing staff approximately 10 years. Although her notes indicated she realized her physical condition was hopeless, Mrs. Rogers continued to work the past year. Surviving in addition to her brothers, George, who is employed by the Acme Color Print Co., and Henry, a rancher, are two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kelso of Bishop and Mrs. Anna Stoll of Downey. Funeral arrangements are In charge of the Mark B. Shaw Co.
