Bobby "Boomer" Rogers Jr., 54, of Andrews died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 in Murphy Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County. He had worked as a lineman in the telephone construction industry. Bobby was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his parents, Bobby and Mildred Yonce Rogers of Andrews; three sisters, Ann Watkins, Carol Gunter and companion, Bill Hall, and Brenda Rogers and companion, Joe Rodgers all of Andrews; two brothers, David Rogers and James Rogers both of Andrews; and a special niece, Ashley Gunter and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 11, 2011 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews with Rev. Eddie Hardin officiating. Interment was in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Junior Rowland, Marty Stiles, Brandon and Shanddon Bryant, Paul Mosteller, and Joe Rodgers. Honorary pallbearers were Travis Rogers and Bryce Carpenter.

The family received friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews.
