Oct. 8, 1942 Kingfisher Kingfisher County Oklahoma, USA
Catherina Roeder was born in Fell, Germany - the 3rd of 6 children born to Joannis and Margarethae Roeder. In 1880 Catharina immigrated to the United States with her family. Her family initially settled in Kansas where her father worked as a farmer. She married the love of her life (Lorenz Bamberg) in 1883 and they had 8 children together. Lorenz and Catharina moved their growing family to Kingfisher, Oklahoma during the great land rush of 1893. Catherina raised her children on the family farm and lived there until her death. Note: She is listed as Catherina Roeder in most family records and on the ships passenger list when she immigrated to the US with her family in 1880. This inscription is the only time I have seen her name spelled this way. I have seen it spelled Catharine, Katherine as well as Kate or Cate. Some family members use the spelling Roder instead of Roeder.
