Graveside services were held Friday, July 13, 2001 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Mr. Roe was born in Seymour on July 2, 1921. After graduating from Seymour High School in 1939 he joined the Navy and served until November 1945. While serving in the Navy he attended Hospital Corps School in San Diego, California and was stationed in Pearl Harbor and the South Pacific aboard the USS Gridley and the USS Holland. He married Evelyn McLarty on January 6, 1943 in Seymour, Texas. They moved to Grand Prairie, Texas in 1951 where he worked for Vought Industries until he retired in 1984. In April 2001 he and Evelyn moved to Durango, Colorado.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Durango; a son, Delbert and daughter-in-law Carolyn of Whitewright, Texas; and a daughter, and son-in-law Mary and Guy Orbison of Durango; five grandchildren, and his sister, Naomi Chilton of Grand Prairie, Texas.
