Perpetua A. Rodrigues Avila of Modesto died at Garden City Health Care Center.
Mrs. Avila was a native of Pico, Azores. She lived in Modesto several months and previously had lived in Ceres since 1966.
She worked as a food processor and had worked for the CVC processing plant for 10 years.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and was a former member of St. Jude's Catholic Church, Ceres.
She is survived by her husband, Antonio Avila of Modesto; children, Joe Avila and Fernando Avila, both of Ceres; a brother, Jose Lopes of Sacramento; sister, Cidalia Freitas of Modesto; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs, with the rosary at 6 p.m.
A Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
Burial at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
