Eliza Ann Anderson was the ninth child of Abraham and Jane Roderick. She was born April 19, 1851 in New Market, Ohio., and died at her home in Narka, Kan., September 7, 1934, aged 83 years, 4 months and 18 days.
Her parents were sincere Christians and from childhood she was earnest in all Christian endeavor.
October 29, 1868, she was married to J. M. Eakins. There were three children born: Mrs. Emma A. Johnson, Superior, Neb., Mrs. Mary Wolfe, Hope, Kan., and James Eakins, Narka, Kan.
Mrs. Anderson moved first from Ohio to Illinois and from there to Narka. On February 28, 1884, she was united in marriage with George W. Anderson. Two children were born; Mrs. Charles Dovel of Narka and Clarence Joel Anderson. Clarence and his father preceded Mrs. Anderson in death.
All of her sisters and brothers have gone on before and she spoke often with an eager expectancy of seeing these many loved ones again. She is survived by four children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She has been a member of the Methodist church in Narka many years and the memory of her is the monument of a faithful life, quietly and consistently devoted to the right.
Funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church in Narka by Rev. Harry Riley, Methodist minister, and the Rev. Otha Clark, Presbyterian minister.
