OBITUARY :
MR. DEVIN E. ROCK, SR., 48, of Chambersburg, PA, died at 8:50 A.M., Friday morning, February 21, 2014 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born January 28, 1966 in Allegheny County, PA, he was the son of Ommir W. Rock of Chambersburg and the late Hazel I. (Bumbaugh) Rock.
Devin graduated from Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the class of 1985. While in high school he also attended Vo-Tech.
He was currently employed at MTD Steel Erectors, working in the construction industry.
Devin attended services at Pond Bank Independent Church, Pond Bank, PA and was a member of American Legion Post #46, Chambersburg.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and football, including playing football while in high school.
In addition to his father, he is survived by four children, Devin Rock, Jr. of Fayetteville, Cody Rock of Alexandria, VA, Jenni Rock of Hagerstown, and Jazman Rock of South Mountain; two grandchildren; his fiancé, Kim Thurrott of Chambersburg; one sister, Vickie Wilson and her husband, Jonathan of Mary Esther, FL; and one niece, Laura Wilson.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Dr. Mervil R. Stambaugh officiating. Burial will be private in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Wednesday morning, in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Devin's memory to: St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
