ABERNATHY- Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Aleene Boler went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 13, 2012. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 16th, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Abell Funeral Home. Interment will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Boler family plot in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, Texas under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, Texas. Aleene was born on March 22, 1915, in Bangs, Texas, the oldest of three daughters, born to Wendell and Mabel (Alldredge) Rochester. She graduated from Bangs High School in 1933 then went on to Daniel Baker College, now Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas on a Homemaking scholarship. She married Earl Boler December 15, 1935, in Comanche, Texas. They moved to Abilene, Texas where they lived for fifteen years while Earl served as the bookkeeper and treasurer for J.M. Radford Company. In 1952 Earl and Aleene purchased the White's Auto Store in Anson and operated it for twenty-six years prior to retiring to Granbury. While in Anson, Aleene was very active in church and civic affairs. She was a member of First Baptist Church, served on many committees, and taught Sunday school for ten-year-old boys for twenty years. She also had a love for her community by giving her service to the Chamber of Commerce as membership chairman and by serving in numerous other organizations. Earl and Aleene retired to Granbury, Texas, in 1978 where they remained active in the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed church, family, friends, gardening, and traveling before moving to Abernathy in 2003. She was a member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church and the TEL Sunday School Class.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Leatrice B. Waren of Bangs and several nieces. Aleene was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years; her parents; and two sisters, Oleene Chrane and Juanita Fattorini.

Aleene was a very Godly individual, a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was affectionately known to her grandkids as Grommie, Grandmommy, Grandmother, and Grandma. She will be deeply missed by her loving family. A special thank you goes to Interim Home Health of Plainview, Carillon House in Lubbock and a very special friend, Nancy Priest.
