OWENSBORO MESSENGER INQUIRER OBITUARY – 08/18/1960
Mrs. Mary Rose Millay, 60, of 511 E. 4th St., died Thursday morning [August 18, 1960] in Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. Born in Daviess County, June 12, 1900, she had lived in Owensboro and Daviess County for her entire life. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, and of Sts. Joseph & Paul Altar Society. Surviving are her husband; five sons, James Bernard, Joseph Gilbert, Robert William, Joseph Ronald and William Donald, all of Owensboro; five daughters, Mrs. Joseph Roberts, Knottsville, Mrs. Vincent Mattingly, Mrs. Adrian Clark, Miss Beverly Millay, all of Owensboro, and Mrs. Joe Newley, Louisville; one brother, William Roby, Rome; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Payne, of McQuady; 34 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Catholic Church by the Rev. Bernard Powers, assistant pastor. Burial will be in Catholic cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The body is at the Delbert J. Glenn Mortuary, where prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
